At a presentation at the University of Reading, this year's prize was awarded to Luke Blaxland-Kay.

Luke had written an innovative piece, 'Four-Point Star', for this competition which the judges rated very highly. Luke has a distinctive style and a gift for storytelling.  This is a name to look out for in future if he decides to turn to writing novels. The prize was presented by Rosalind Laker's daughter, Susan Keane. On this occasion she was joined by Juliet Burton, who was Rosalind's agent for many years and they became great friends.
